ADOPTED!

Treat went to his forever home with two wonderful humans and two new and fun greyhound friends, Roll and Shorty. We miss his pitter patter, but we are so excited for him and his new family!

It's me again!

Hi there, it's Treatmeright again.
I finally convinced Ani to write something, so here she is:

Hello, this is Ani. Treatmeright has been asking me for seven consecutive days to write something about him on his blog! Well, he has been a great roommate. He is very goofy but in a cute way. He loves to follow Trevor and me around to see what we're up to. Here is a photo where he napped next to Trevor and another of him trying to snuggle next to me. I didn't mind, but I was trying to nap at that time!

I must say, he is a very handsome dog. In the shot on the left, he was posing and trying to look debonair. During our walks, many humans have commented on how beautiful he looks and how soft his fur is. Of course, I would try to stand closer next to him so they can pet me too.

Since we have had him as a roommate, Treat has been learning a lot and is getting acclimated to the house and other dogs. He is doing great but is still learning about cats--he is quite fascinated by them in a transfixed sort of way. Regardless, Trevor and I think Treat is terrific. He naps like a champion and plays with stuffies with gusto. At the same time, he is also quite the gentleman and is respectful of our space when we ask for it. He will be such joy in his forever home and will bring smiles to everyone with whom he interacts--especially when he shows off his silly side!

Treatmeright here again. Isn't Ani the best? I have to tell my foster mom to give her a nice juicy treat for her fantastic blog. Thanks so much Ani! As a side note, I *was* trying to snuggle next to Ani, but I apologized to her later when I found out that I woke her up...

Singing praises

I didn't want to detract from Treatmeright's entry so I am entering a separate one (wink!). Treatmeright has been a great foster dog; he tries very hard to please everyone and is attentive to verbal cues. If we say "no", he listens and stops quickly. He loves to follow us around to check out all the action, but will promptly sit down nearby once the excitement has waned! He is not pushy and just loves to be around humans.

We had an exciting event recently where he met our friend's little rat/Boston terrier mix (who is quite alpha). Treatmeright was extremely curious, but listened to us when we made it clear for him to be polite. It also helped when the little dog let Treatmeright know when it was getting too close for comfort! By the end of the evening, they were giving each other kisses!

He is also learning about some other fun things, such as how to eat a Frosty Paws treat. Here, he found out that resting his nose on the container and methodically licking out the contents seems to be the best approach!

July fun

Hi again everyone. This is Treatmeright.
I am having a great July so far and Trevor and Ani have showed me the ropes to navigating around a house. My foster mom calls me "the cutest goof" but I am not sure what that means. I have been a good boy, just ask one of my favorite roommates!

Hi, Trevor here. Treat has been a great buddy. We like to play with all of the stuffies, watch the exciting things that happen outside, and be lazy together. He is great fun!

Treatmeright again. I will write more soon. Next time, I will ask Ani to give me a good review!
Take care!

Hello!

Hi everyone, Treatmeright here!
I just wanted to show you some of my favorite pastimes (clockwise):
1. Waking up with my tongue sticking out on the shag carpet;
2. Sitting pretty in the car;
3. Napping in the screened-in porch with Trevor and Ani;
4. Hanging out with Ani.

Happy July 4th weekend, everyone!

Week two, and having a blast!!

Week two update:
Treatmeright has sailed through his first two weeks in his foster home. He is such a pleasure to have around and is a very easy going dog! He continues to love his walks and to play with all the stuffies. A new pastime of his is to lounge with our hounds in the screened in porch and watch all the humans and dogs that pass by. He also loves to lean on every human that he meets, especially those who comment on how beautiful he is (wink!).

Treatmeright has had no problems sleeping through the night and likes to nap periodically during the day. He is crated while we are away during the day and seems to enjoy the familiar environment. He has started to roach while sleeping and it is a lot of fun to watch as he tries not to tip over! Treatmeright is such a great boy and it has been so much fun; we can't wait until he finds his forever home!

Settling in!

Treatmeright has been an absolute joy. In the past five days, he has acclimated very well and quickly to our house and enjoys the company of our two hounds. He makes us laugh constantly when he buries his face into the toy bin, chases after flying stuffies (and sometimes he brings them back!), nests his bed until it becomes a taco, and perks up his floppy ears (which fall back down) when he hears an unknown noise. He loves his walks and is good on leash; we think he will be even better once he becomes more familiar with his surroundings.
He is such a sweet and happy boy (and adorable when he is sleeping) and will be a very special friend for his forever family!

Right at home!

We had the "treat" of fostering M's Treatmeright and took him home yesterday. Within 24h, he has tested out every soft bed in the home, played with nearly half of the stuffies in the toy bin, and has asked our two hounds, Trevor and Ani, to play with him. He is quite adept with stairs and will be extremely nimble in no time. He is a great hound! He is settling into the new environment and we can't wait to see how this goofy guy transforms over time!

Wednesday Evening Stroll

Well, the nice kennel people came and we walked on the leash. Way too hot to run in the fence, so we strolled. I saw a dog being walked by his people while I was out. I wanted to go and say hello to the people. A nice backyard would suit me just fine. Add a few people to tell me I am fabulous and give me treats and belly rubs and I would be set. I prefer the company of larger dogs. I am a winner; you'd better hurry to meet me. No pushing and shoving though.

TREAT...an acrobat

Treat makes us laugh every week!

He is usually laying on his back, all 4 legs in the air when we come in the kennel, and he looks the same when we leave! And, he has one ear that lays back and one that lays forward. He's a dog with a sense of humor!
He is a big boy with a personality just as big. He is quite a love though...he for sure wants affection and attention. HE is a sweetie. HE wants to be active, so he is your new walking partner anytime you are ready.
TREAT is a BEAUTY, his coat and markings are stunning. He is such a healthy boy.
This is one boy you don't want to miss. He is going to enrich someones' life so much, and will provide a house and heart full of love!!!

Fun in the Run

I had the pleasure of playing with 'Treatmeright' and 'I Remember You' on Sunday in the run. Both were a great deal of fun and loved chasing the ball and me. I was particularly fond of Treatmeright. He is such a sweet boy. I would throw the ball for him and he would chase it down, touch it with his muzzle and then come running right back to me for loves. Because he was wearing his muzzle he was unable to pick up the ball so I would jog over to pick it up for him. Treatmeright would run along with me and then wait patiently for me to throw the ball again. He is truly a great hound and he succeeded in brightening up my day. Not to mention he is an awfully handsome one too! Some one is going to be very lucky to get him sometime soon!

Such a comic!

HE always brings a smile to my face, whether its his lop-ears, or laying upside down, or his palyful nature in the run. If you want to smile and laugh all the time, this boy is for you, and just the most handsome boy too!

A Sweet Treat

He's a lover not a fighter. Treat was his usual sweet self last night. He loves to play with the other Greys but even more he loves human attention. I hope so much he soon finds his forever family to treat him right. He sure deserves it. -Laura
